OMG,  you can get it more than once?   does it get progressively worse each time?    I thought I had read somewhere that you generally only can get it once....I'm so sorry....

i have also had bp 3 times. once in 1999, 2003 and 2007. i thought i might have been the only one who suffered 3 times. The first time it only lasted 2 weeks on the right side of my face. the second 3 months and took a steroid affected the left side of my face. this last time i still have not regained 100% function of the left side of my face.

Hi, I have had it nine times, just last August it was bilateral. I was thinking I may have set a world record. I have just gotten it again 6/23/13 and the bilateral was not yet healed.

Hi All,
My 1st BP attack happened in 1996, on the left side of my face, two months shy of my 26th birthday.  I recovered about 85%. My 2nd episode happened in August of 2009 on the right side of my face.  It lasted for only a week and a half and I fully recovered. On March 9th 2016, I had another episode on the left side of my face and has taken me down to 70%.  I never made a full recovery on the left side of my face and now it was attacked again.  I'm currently taking steroids and valtrex.  It's only been a week but I'm hoping to recover soon.  I get plenty of rest and do my own physical therapy (massage with lotion or oils).  Hopefully we'll all have some good news in the near future.

Hi all,
3rd time here! 14 years ago, 2 years ago, and now since four weeks.  The first two were on the left side, and recovery was within two weeks. No long term effects beyond that. However this time it's much more vicious. I'm on week 4 with hardly any improvement. Eye does not blink, cheek does not move, lips go crooked when smiling, talking or eating. Have to lift and hold the BP side of the cheeks when talking. Have gone through all the blood tests. Shingles reactivation suspected. Have a MRI pending for this week and will update all on what I find.

I went by the last experience and was hoping to recover in 2-3 weeks, and am disappointed that it's not the same this time.
